Meet the Founders, Scott + Melissa

After traveling for work + play for many years, people would always say to us, we want to be like you guys when we grow up! This quickly turned into them coming to us with their travel questions. 

In 2021, Melissa decided to become a part-time travel advisor because she was already helping friends and family with their travel plans. 

In 2023 we started The Sunshine Travelers Podcast and the Sunshine Travelers Blog. website and social media channels as a way to share even more of our passion and knowledge of travel, the destinations we were traveling to, the tips we were learning along the way, and our travel stories.

However, we still found out that not everyone loves the travel research and planning process like we do, but still wants to experience unique bucket list adventures like ours. So in 2024, we founded Sunshine Travelers Experiences.

The Mission of Sunshine Travelers Experiences is to create unique unforgettable bucket list trips crafted specifically to your dream vision.

Our goal is to seek out unique and local experiences and work with local companies in each destination whenever possible to support the local economy.  

We have planned dozens of trips for couples, families, groups, and extended families and know the ins and outs of planning both domestic and international trips, cruises, theme parks, and more! There's a lot to consider, especially if you're new to the type of trip you're planning.

• Do you charge a Planning Fee? 

NO, NOT FOR Cruises, Disney and Universal Vacations, Sandals and other All-Inclusive Resorts Packages. The Cruise Lines and Resorts have Travel Advisor Commissions already built into their prices and so there's never a fee for our expertise to book these.  As a matter of fact, we often know how to get BEST AVAILABLE RATE when booking your trip and especially for Disney, when they drop a promotion, we may be able to save you even more. 

If you are booking a CUSTOM ITINERARY, there may be a minimal planning fee that your travel planner will discuss with you PRIOR to booking your trip. Unfortunately, airlines don't pay commissions and hotel and tour only commissions don't compensate for the time spent to research and book the trip, and so in order to customize the best trip for you including transfers, tours, dining reservations, tickets and more, your travel planner will add a planning fee to the total cost of the trip.  This ensures you're getting a custom trip designed just for you, not something cookie cutter.
